BIOGRAPHY

Masked phenomenon Dragon Lee debuted at age 18 as the youngest member of a family dynasty. Son of Bestia Del Ring, and the brother of Rush and Mistico, Lee had big shoes to fill.

Lee did so with a spectacular high risk, high impact style, and broke onto the worldwide scene when he met a young Hiromu Takahashi on his post Young Lion excursion. Takahashi wrestled as Kamaitachi in CMLL, and began an epic rivalry, one that grew more and more bitter, and saw both men take greater and greater risks with every time they stepped in the ring.

Their feud over the CMLL World Welterweight Championship came to Japan during CMLL Fantasticamania in January 2016. The pair brought the Korakuen Hall house down, and Dragon Lee instantly appeared large on NJPW fans’ radars. Dragon Lee would participate in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament in 2017 and 2018, and was always ready to throw down with Takahashi, who by this point had returned as Los Ingobernables De Japon’s ‘Time Bomb’.

After focusing on America and Mexico for the second half of 2018, Lee returned to NJPW for Fantasticamania 2019. He and Mistico won the Family Tag Tournament during that tour, and in April 2019, represented his home CMLL promotion in an interpromotional three way match with Bandido and Taiji Ishimori for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden. Landing his Desnucadora finish on Bandido, Lee scored the pinfall victory, and his first championship in New Japan.

Lee would go on to a strong Best of the Super Juniors performance, dropping only two matches to Shingo Takagi and Taiji Ishimori. Will Ospreay would win the tournament however, and would go on to take Lee’s title at Dominion. The Mexican dragon seeks to fire up the junior division again very soon.
