BIOGRAPHY

With a strong wrestling pedigree and impressive physique, Davey Boy Smith Jr. brings power and technicality to the ring. The son of the legendary “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith, he made his debut in Canada in 2000. Under the name Harry Smith, he briefly wrestled in NJPW through 2005, before heading to America and WWE from 2006 to 2011. In August of 2012 he joined up with Suzuki-gun and partnered with Lance Archer to form the Killer Elite Squad (K.E.S.).

KES combine brute strength with preturnatural submission ability, helped by Smith’s Hart family legacy and experience in the legendary Snake Pit gym. Smith was a semi finalist in the 2013 New Japan Cup, had strong runs in the 2013 and 2014 G1 Climax tournaments, and took then IWGP Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura to the limit on several occasions.

It’s with Lance Archer though that Smith has made his biggest impression. With big wins over Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan, KES won IWGP Tag Team Championship gold on a pair of occasions over 2012 and 2013, and when Suzuki-gun headed to Pro Wrestling NOAH between 2015 and 2017, the team dominated, holding GHC Tag Team gold for the bulk of their exodus.

At New Year Dash 2017, Suzuki Gun made a shocking return to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and KES made it clear that they were gunning for the IWGP Tag Team Championships once more. This campaign was a successful one, as Archer and Smith triumphed over tough competition in War Machine and the Guerillas of Destiny to once again hold the gold. That reign came to an end on Januray 4 2018 at Wrestle Kingdom 12, and KES have been seething away from the championship picture ever since. It’s only a matter of time before KES rises again and repaints the tag team division in their own image.
