The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw Minoru Suzuki go one on one with Jon Moxley for the second time, in Moxley’s home town of Cincinnati Ohio.

Starting as both competitors intended to go on, Moxley and Suzuki traded hard forearm shivers at the bell before a barrage of palm strikes from the King were stopped by a Moxley elbow. Suzuki would be staggered to the ropes, but baited his opponent in, locking in a straight armbar over the rope before using the ring post to torque Mox’s shoulder.

After working on Moxley’s arm in ring with a ouble wrist lock, Mox sought solace in the corner, gaining enough time to summon a lariat that knocked down a charging King. With the crowd at his side, Moxley unleashed offense both clean, with a vertical suplex, and decidedly dirty with a bite of the forehead. Suzuki would respond in kind, and clashed heads until both crumpled to the mat, only to continue slugging it out on their knees.

As the match continued on its violent path, Suzuki blocked a lariat and set up for the Gotch Style Piledriver, only to be backdropped out and met with a short DDT that cut him open over the left eye. The King would absorb lariats from Moxley but kept his footing, landing a huge dropkick to put his opponent down as the match progressed. Yet weakened from the loss of blood and vision in his eye, Suzuki was fast running out of time with Moxley. A pair of snug right fists would connect with the jaw, and a Death Rider followed to grant Mox victory.
