New Japan’s G1 Climax tournament is a summertime pro-wrestling institution going back decades. Every year the brightest stars gather to compete for the honor of a Wrestle Kingdom main event on January 4th at the Tokyo Dome! This year is no different, as 20 combatants from around the world participate in a 19-event series for glory!
Making their debuts this year are Juice Robinson and Zack Sabre Jr.! They join a roster packed with stars like G1 veteran Hiroshi Tanahashi, IWGP Heavyweight champ Kazuchika Okada and in his final G1 appearance, the legendary Yuji Nagata!
Surprise entrants this year include the “Golden★Star” himself, Kota Ibushi, who returns to the G1 ring after a 2 year hiatus! Joining him in the G1 this year is the boss of Suzuki-gun, and current NEVER Openweight champion, Minoru Suzuki! It’s been 3 years since he last terrorized the G1 Climax, but he’s back with a renewed hunger for carnage!
