IMPACT Tag Controversy Grants BULLET CLUB, FinJuice Bound For Glory Title Shot

Three way match set for IMPACT’s flagship event

IMPACT Wrestling kicked off this week with a number one contenders’ match for the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships currently held by the Good Brothers Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. FinJuice would wrestle Chris Bey and Hikuleo of BULLET CLUB for the shot as David Finlay and Juice Robinson’s ongoing issues with the faction continued.

Hikuleo got a knockdown on Finlay early, but Bey had less luck, quickly controlled until blocking a shot into the corner and bringing Hikuleo back in. FinJuice were able to deal with the big man initially, but a big side slam put BULLET CLUB in charge.

A Finlay side suplex would see the a break for the former IMPACT and IWGP Champions, Robinson tagging in and launching Bey with a mammoth back body drop. A cannonball followed, and as Finlay tagged in and Robinson and Hikuleo went to the floor, Finlay would look for an Irish Curse. He would get the move on the second time of asking, but wiped out the referee in the process, Hikuleo taking advantage of the confusion to strike with a chokeslam and throw Bey on top of Finlay as a second ref counted two.

After tags made on both sides, Hikuleo blocked the Left hand of God, and delivered a brutal powerslam. As the original referee came to, Finlay hit the ring with a Prima Nocta to Hikuleo, but was cradled by Bey. The original referee, believing Bey and Finlay to be legal, counted the pin, while the second official counted Robinson pinning Hikuleo.

With controversy surrounding the draw finish, both teams were given number one contendership status and will face the Good Brothers Saturday at 10/9c on Bound For Glory.

Saturday night at 8/7c, David Finlay wrestles in ten man tag team action, while Chris Bey and El Phantasmo face Chris Dickinson and Robbie Eagles, and Hikuleo meets Juice in a Texas Bullrope Match in the main event.
