Directly Driven Hiromu sees third Best of the Super Jr. Win

Hiromu goes back to back in Ryogoku

Hiromu is Best of the Super Jr. in 2021, defeating YOH in Ryogoku in what was, at 38 minutes and 30 seconds, the longest and arguably most hard fought bout in tournament history.

Before their clash, Hiromu had questioned YOH’s ability to wrestle with his heart on his sleeve, and with instinct and emotion. After both went to ground early, the 2020 winner would test that heart of his foe, with open hand slaps and chops that quickly turned YOH’s chest a deep purple. As YOH fired back though, it was with a shotgun dropkick that Hiromu took control.

Confusing to fire strikes at his opponent; a flying forearm saw a brief response from YOH, but a Falcon Arrow saw a bigger opening, and with a Frankensteiner sending Hiromu to the ropes, YOH took the chance to deliver an inverted Dragon Screw and then head into the Stargazer. Takahashi responded after making the ropes with a submission of his own with D, and followed with a corner DVD, but YOH would be able to get free of a Time Bomb attempt with a big German suplex.

The match building in tensity, Hiromu buried hard forearms to YOH, before a series of knockdowns and one counts. YOH would land a massive dropkick to the face of his foe, but Takahashi would respond with a corner suplex, and then dropped the CHAOS member with a DVD on the ring apron. The twenty count applied, YOH pulled himself up to the apron where he seemed prone to a sunset bomb, but a Frankensteiner counter would lead to a massive tope con giro.

As the match approached the 25 minute mark with both competitors on the floor, SHO would make a sudden appearance, dropping YOH with a cross arm piledriver, and inviting Hiromu takahashi to take advantage, before delivering the same fate to a furious Hiromu. As SHO barked to the referee to put a stop to the match as a no-contest, both Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI of CHAOS, and Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi hit ringside to ensure there would be no further interference to either competitor.

Both athletes would will themselves back into the ring, and hurled their bodies at one another with shotgun dropkick blasts. Operating on instinct, YOH would try for a series of flash pins before being hurled with a German suplex; as YOH came back up and fought for position both men traded brutal headbutts as the match passed the half hour mark.

YOH went back to the Dragon Screw to gain a reprieve from the Tme Bomb, but was unable to follow up directly, instead bringing Takahashi up to the top for a superplex into the DNV. The Direct Drive follow up was countered into the Hiromu Roll for two, but YOH kept up the pressure with a superkick on the money, and a Dragon Suplex for a very near two.

Hiromu rolled through on a Direct Drive attempt, and scored with Time Bomb, but YOH again kicked out. The desperate Hiromu would seek the Hiromu Chan Bomber lariat, instead getting rocked by YOH, and finding the strike on a second attempt. Takahashi would pull YOH up for ‘D’s Nightmare’, a brutal double overhook piledriver; still YOH summoned a Five Star Clutch for two and a half before a thunderous lariat and then Time Bomb II for the victory.
