Big Events in Store in the First Half of 2022! 【50th】

NJPW hits Nippon Budokan, Osaka Jo, Ryogoku and the Fukuoka Dome in the first half of 2022

Night two of Wrestle Kingdom 16 saw a special video showing the highlights of our 50th anniversary schedule through the first half of 2022.

Some of the big cards comoing around the corner have already been announced, with the New Year’s Golden Series set to start in Korakuen Hall on January 20, running to big events in February. On February 11, we’ll be in Sendai’s Xebio Hall, before EDION Arena Osaka sees action February 13. Then on the 19th and 20th, the series reaches its conclusion in the snowy climes of Hokkai Kita Yell in Sapporo.

Next, it’s on to the Nippon Budokan for two nights March 1 and 2. The first will see the 50 year celebration of NJPW officially marked with our Anniversary Event, before the next night, New Japan Cup 2022 kicks off with first round action. The tournament will run through to March 26 and 27, the last two nights this year being in Osaka Jo Hall.

The winner of the New Japan Cup will likely see main event action a couple of weeks later, as NJPW returns to its spring home of Ryogoku, and a major card on April 9. That will pave the way to the traditional May festival of Dontaku in Fukuoka…

…This year in the Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome! The last time Dontaku hit the Fukuoka Dome was back in 2000, and the original home of Dontaku will be opened up for a tremendous spectacle on May 1.

Rounding out the first half of the year, June 12 sees the now traditional start to the summer in Osaka Jo Hall. What can fans expect from these stacked cards in big arenas? Stay tuned!
