Six or Nine Move to V2

Kanemaru’s trauma is Taguchi’s triumph in Fukuoka

Team Six or Nine recorded their second successful defence of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag team Championships on May 1 at Dontaku, after Yoshinobu Kanemaru’s whiskey mist backfired, and he got more than a face full of Ryusuke Taguchi instead.

Taguchi headed to the ring with his underpants in hand, indicating that he was ‘going commando’ for the title bout, and though the truth was marginally more socially acceptable, the margin would be a slim one. The challengers Kanemaru and DOUKI would get a typically fast Suzuki-Gun start as they took over on Wato, but a leg lariat would see a tag to the Coach.

Taguchi would get a flurry of offense, but with the Heel Master Kanemaru calling the play, he and DOUKI would take over, attacking Taguchi’s knee to send the challengers to a double stomp and a moonsault from DOUKI and Kanemaru respectively, getting a near two. Wato would play expert support though, flying in without the benefit of the tag and taking down his opposition.

Still, DOUKI would springboard into both champions to take them to the mat, and as he drew the referee away, Kanemaru took a swig of whiskey. In the nick of time though, Taguchi would pull DOUKI into the path of the ensuing alcoholic mist, and rolled up Kanemaru before giving him a close up view of an all-too revealing thong in victory.
