G1 Climax 27 makes its way south to Kagoshima, as the entrants look to pick up vital points in the home stretch of the tournament! 

Many have seen New Japan veteran Yuji Nagata as the standout wrestler in this year’s G1 A-Block, despite his lackluster performance on the results table. To focus on point totals alone though would deny the fact that he has displayed maybe the most ferocity and drive ever in his illustrious 19 years of G1 participation. On 8/1, it will be the dogged Tomohiro Ishii who stands in his way of G1 glory!  

Rounding out the night of G1 competition, Hiroshi Tanahashi continues his quest to reclaim his past dominance by taking on Kota Ibushi! The Golden✩Star has exploded on the scene since returning to the New Japan ring, but his competition have a given him a cold welcoming thus far in the tournament. In facing Tanahashi, Ibushi will need to overcome maybe his most formidable challenger yet: one that represents the very heart and fighting spirit of New Japan Pro-Wrestling itself, The Ace!
