NJPW STRONG Preview: All star eight man main event 【NJoA】

Big names in action this week on STRONG

NJPW STRONG this week sees more big names and more big action from Hollywood as Fighting Spirit Unleashed rolls on with a big time main event.

Watch NJPW STRONG Saturdays 8/7c on NJPW World!

Or watch on FITE!

Main event: Taylor Rust, KUSHIDA, Rocky Romero & Beretta vs BULLET CLUB (Jay White, Chase Owens, Hikuleo & Juice Robinson)

An all star eight man tag will headline this week’s episode of STRONG as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White leads BULLET CLUB into battle. Alongside the Switchbalde will be a Juice Robinson looking to bounce back from a disappointing end to his G1 Climax campaign, Hikuleo, who has been making an impressive mark in Japan during the Burning Spirit tour, and Chase Owens, aiming to build momentum on both sides of the Pacific as he and Bad Luck fale get set to take on Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan in Kobe on September 25.

In the opposite corner,  KUSHIDA is determined to make his own statement toward Taiji Ishimori, who will be competing elsewhere on the FSU series. Meanwhile Rocky Romero and Beretta are trying to restate a case for an IWGP tag Team Championship challenge against FTR somewhere down the line, and Taylor Rust, returning to action in Hollywood and trying to make waves for himself on Saturday nights in the last quarter of the year.

2nd Match: Cody Chhun & Jordan Cruz vs Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor & JR Kratos)

Jordan Cruz and Cody Chhun both return for their second go around on NJPW STRONG this week. Both men have survived encounters with monsters, albeit on the losing end; Chhun debuted against Hikuleo in Seattle at the start of the year, while Cruz was dominated by JR Kratos just a couple of months ago. This week the two have joined forces to take on the Most feared again, but Kratos has an intimidating tag partner in the form of Tom Lawlor. Returning to STRONG after a hugely successful Japanese debut during the G1 tour, Lawlor is looking to hit the ground running, and instantly set a path back to the STRONG Openweight Championship, starting with runing through the opposition tonight.

1st Match: Peter Avalon vs Adrian Quest

Singles action will kick us off as AEW’s ‘Pretty’ Peter Avalon faces Adrian Quest. The two men’s past sees common threads dating back to Quest’s early days in pro-wrestling where he learned under Avalon, but Young Fuego is now his own man on STRONG, and wants to assert dominance of his territory in the face of the debuting Pretty One here tonight.
