Roughneck Return: Shooter takes aim at Ospreay in Ariake

Umino makes surprise return to Japan

Watch the Battle Autumn replay!

Will Ospreay was successful in his third defence of the IWGP United States Championship at the end of Battle Autumn on November 5, but his night was not done, as he would be confronted by Shota Umino, appearing in japan for the first time in three years.

The confident Ospreay reveled in his victory over Tetsuya Naito at the end of the night before saying that his year was not over yet. As he referenced the upcoming Historic X-Over event on November 20 on pay per view, Ospreay issued an open challenge to anyone willing to face him, but the challenge went initially unanswered.

Just as Ospreay was leaving the ring though, a video aired for ‘the Roughneck’, who revealed himself to be Shota Umino. Umino hit the ring, where Ospreay told him that ‘you’ve come back at the wrong time’; in response, Umino let actions speak louder than words. Drilling Ospreay with a Death Rider, Umino left through the audience to the delight of the crowd, and with presumably not long to wait until he faces Ospreay in a rematch from Royal Quest II.
