Super Jr. Tag League night 7 (December 4) Preview

Action heats up in Yamaguchi’s KDDI Hall

It’s the final third for Super Junior Tag League, as the cheering fans in Yamaguchi will be putting their support behind ten teams looking to make Sendai’s final on December 14.

Watch Super Junior Tag League live or in English on demand on NJPW World!

Main event: Catch 2/2 (Francesco Akira & TJP) (5-1)  vs Suzuki-Gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI) (1-5)

Kanemaru & DOUKI are mathematically eliminated

Despite a blip at the hands of Titan and BUSHI, the IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions Catch 2/2 have resumed and continued their winning ways to a very strong league leading ten points. On the opposite end of the ledger, a 1-5 record is not something that DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru desired. yet after being knocked out of contention, they seemed to wrestle with renewed determination to their first win over Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA, and will look to double up under unlikely circumstances against the tag champions tonight.

7th Match: CHAOS (Lio Rush & YOH) (4-2) vs SAUCEHEARTS (Alex Zayne & El Lindaman) (5-1)

A tale of clashing confidence permeates the semi main event tonight. While YOH and Lio Rush seemed to have the stars aligning for themselves heading into Osaka Friday, a miriad of HOUSE OF TORTURE filthy tactics put paid to YOH getting a satisfying win over former partner SHO, instead a Shock Arrow ending his night after what was, officially, an 18 second match.

In the other corner, SAUCEHEARTS are riding high, a spectacular win over Titan and BUSHI putting the group in the league leading tie. Differnetly affected but equally motivated, how will both teams move on tonight?

6th Match Los Ingobernables De Japon (BUSHI & Titan) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (SHO & Dick Togo)

SHO & Togo are mathematically eliminated

SHO and Dick Togo may have been mathematically eliminated from Super Junior Tag League in record time, but consolation would come in the form of an interference laden and weapon heavy assault on YOH and Lio Rush in Osaka Friday night. The two points on the board mattered not nearly as much as potentially spoiling CHAOS down the line for H.O.T, and their campaign of carnage will be set to continue tonight. BUSHI and Titan will be well advised to stay on their toes as EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi are likely not far behind SHO and Dick Togo either.

5th Match: Wild Hips (Ryusuke Taguchi & Clark Connors) (2-4) vs Flying Tiger (Tiger Mask & Robbie Eagles) (2-4)

 Both teams are mathematically eliminated

With just five in the hunt of Super Junior tag League, both the Flyting Tigers and Wild Hips sides are eliminated from this year’s league. Yet on a personal level, they want to ensure their future in NJPW rings and the junior heavyweight division is far from an endangered one, and the resulting match will see them get wild tonight.

4th Match: KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight (1-5) vs BULLET CLUB (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) (5-1)

Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA went to another loss Friday in Osaka to DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru, but under the Timesplitter’s guidance, the Jet Kevin Knight continues to show massive improvements and gains in confidence. Their opponents tonight are certainly not lacking in either confidence or points, but pride could put Chris Bey and Ace Austin on the verge of a fall, and be the biggest result by far of KUSHIDA and Knight’s tag team spell.

3rd Match: Los Ingobernables De Japon (Shingo Takagi, Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) vs Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, El Desperado & Lance Archer)

It’s been a while since Tetsuya Naito and Minoru Suzuki have squared off, but they will do so December 9 in Kochi when Naito and SANADA face Suzuki and Lance Archer. Before that, an intense preview will also see Hiromu Takahashi and El Desperado look to ramp up their road to Wrestle Kingdom.

2nd Match: YOSHI-HASHI, Tomoaki Honma & Master Wato vs BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck fale, Taiji Ishimori & Gedo)

The second match of the night will see Bishamon and BULLET CLUB picking up after battling in Osaka at the weekend, while Taiji Ishimori and Master Wato continue to collide ahead of Wrestle Kingdom 17.

1st match: Kosei Fujita & Yuto Nakashima vs Ryohei Oiwa & Oskar Leube

Four bright prospects continue to battle for Young Lion supremacy in the opening match of the night. Who will set the pace as action gets started in Yamaguchi?
