Hometown CHAOS sees YOH and Rush to the top

YOH and Rush claim first trophies together

The Super Junior tag League finals saw YOH in front of his home prefecture crowd in Sendai on December 14, teaming with Lio Rush to face the BULLET CLUB combination of Ace Austin and Chris Bey.

A quick attack before the bell from BULLET CLUB gave them a brief advantage until Lio Rush turned on the style with combination kicks and YOH finished with a dual DDT-neckbreaker. Frustration built when Rush unhappily tagged out only to tag himself immediately back in, cooler heads prevailing thanks to YOH; however the time allowed Bey to recover to the detriment of YOH. The flashy A-B-C team of Bey and Austin’s tandem offence would expertly cut the ring in half.

Back rakes to YOH sought to only enrage Rush further, the A-B-C team too much for YOH to handle with Austin’s ace up his sleeve striking a paper cut into the fingers of YOH; the simultaneous standing moonsault and leg-drop providing a two count for BULLET CLUB. A well placed dropkick finally allowed Lio Rush to be tagged in, the ‘Bad Child’ taking out both Ace and Bey, earning a close three count courtesy of Rush Hour. YOH would hit DMV and it was followed up by Rush’s Final Hour, but only to the sound of another two count.

With tags on both side, hometown hero YOH and Ace would enter the fray, YOH landing a half-hatch suplex with a beautiful bridge. Ace’s unique offence turned the tables, the Two Sweet tope from Bey leading to Soar to Glory from Austin, but YOH retaliating with a thudding Falcon Arrow on the outside leaving all four men damaged on the outside, barely diving back in the ring at the count of 19 and keeping the final alive.

A slugging exchange of forearms between all four men erupted, a barrage of offence ending with Lio Rush accidentally hitting his own tag team partner YOH with Rush Hour. Follow up top rope moves from A-B-C seemed to secure the win, but YOH would not give up and kicked out at the last possible moment. The Chris Bey Cutter landed and as Ace was set to hit The Fold, Rush made the last ditch save with a splitting spear, leaving only Rush and Bey standing. In a turn of fortune, Ace accidentally caught his own partner Bey with a springboard kick, and at the 20 minute mark the CHAOS pair hit 3K for a sure-fire three count, only for Bey to drag referee Red Shoes out the ring to stop the count.

Undaunted, a tope from Lio Rush removed Bey from the equation and a sensational Final Hour would see him fly across the length of the ring, leaving YOH was primed to hit Direct Drive to finally get the three count and CHAOS wining Super Junior Tag League 2022.
