STRONG Tag Team Championships at stake Saturday

STRONG this week sees the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships on the line, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin looking to defend their titles against the challenge of Roppongi Vice.

Main event: STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships: Motor City Machineguns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs Roppongi Vice (Beretta & Rocky Romero)

The main event will see a battle of two classic tag teams, as Motor City Machineguns take on Roppongi Vice. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin captured the STRONG tag titles back in October with an upset three way victory and have only built momentum since, defending their gold against Stray Dog Army last month, and adding the IMPACT Tag Team Championships to their collection as well. Yet since reuniting in 2022, Rocky Romero and Beretta have been hungry for gold. All four of these men have had heavy influence on tag team wrestling around the world in general and NJPW in particular, and this unique collision could easily be a match of the year contender in the face of already intense competition.

2nd Match: KENTA vs QT Marshall

It’s BULLET CLUB vs AEW’s The Factory in first time ever singles action as QT Marshall and KENTA go head to head. Through his presence on NJPW STRONG through 2022, Marshall has hardly done much to endear himself to the ticket buying STRONG public. His unapologetic antagonism is something that KENTA may respect if anything, but the Hollywood fans will likely be behind the number one contender to the STRONG Openweight Championship as he goes into a singles tune up before Hiroshi Tanahashi on February 11 in Osaka and the title match itself one week later in San Jose.

1st Match: C4 (Cody Chhun & Guillermo Rosas) vs West Coast Wrecking Crew (Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson)

Tag team action tops and tails the card this week on STRONG, as the C4 combination of Cody Chhun and Guillermo Rosas will be facing the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Both of these teams are highly familiar with one another through their active careers in the Pacific Northwest, and will be carrying that familiarity into our opening bout, but while WCWC have quite the reputation on STRONG, C4 are looking for a signature win. Could they upset Nelson and Isaacs, and make the winners of our main event sit up and take notice?
