Eagles on top in Sydney as TAMASHII rolls on

Eagles opens up challenge to Hiromu, demands entry in the Oceania cup

A passionate crowd in Coogee, Sydney on February 3 saw the third TAMASHII event bring a thrilling night of action at Selina’s Entertainment Center.

The main event of the evening saw Robbie Eagles take on Aaron Solo of AEW’s Factory. A hard fought main event that went just shy of 15 minutes, Solo and Eagles through some heavy shots, and Coogee came to their feet as Solo struck with a double stomp and attempted his Pedigree finish. It would be Eagles who emerged with the Ron Miller Special however, scooping victory.

Post match, Eagles suggested bringing more CHAOS members over to Australia next time out, including even ‘Little Kazu’ to the delight of the crowd. Saying that he was sure his faction mates would receive the positive message from the crowd, he turned his sights to the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Alluding to Sunday’s bout between YOH and Hiromu Takahashi, Eagles stated that ‘friend or foe, I want next’. Eagles also stated that he planned to be in the Oceania Cup in Wagga Wagga later this year before promising that when it comes to the Australian mat, ‘everybody surrenders to the Sniper’.

Michael Richards carried some strong momentum from the first TAMASHII events into a non title singles bout with PWA Champion Ricky South. A highly physical bout saw hard hits from both men, but it was South emerging on top with a classical Piledriver for the victory.

Just prior to TAMASHII events, a PWA card in Sydney saw the enigmatic Lyrebird Luchi recruited by Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale into a growing BULLET CLUB sub faction known as the Rogue Army. Tonight was Luchi’s first match flying the BULLET CLUB flag, and he did his new teammates proud when raking the eyes of Andrew Villalobos and cradling him for three.

That carried a theme of tainted matches from BULLET CLUB- when Bad Luck Fale and Jack Bonza were struggling in the face of Kyle Fletcher and Aaron Henare of United Empire, a low blow from Bonza to Fletcher in full view of the referee led to the bell.

Mick Moretti and Adam Hoffman of PWA’s Nations took on Richard Mulu and the debuting Viktor Langras, who was replacing the injured Mat Rogers. One step ahead as an experienced team, an innovative wheelbarrow double stomp brought Moretti and Hoffman victory.

More clinical was Carter Deams, who bounced back from a loss to Robbie Eagles at TAMASHII’s Sydney debut to get a win over Jake Taylor via Kimura Lock.

From the ground to the air, the Velocities tag team started the main card with a spectacular victory, Paris De Silva going up for a Shooting Star Press that ended the night for Nikolai Anton Bell.

An added bonus bout to the card would see the first women’s match for NJPW TAMASHII, Jessica Troy stacking Charlie Evans for the first three count of the night. What could come from the women’s division on TAMASHII in the future?

Look out for these matches on NJPW World soon!
