Super Jr. Tag Tournament schedule officially announced! The world’s best Jr. Heavyweights assemble to compete for glory!

The Autumn season brings with it the coming of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s premier Jr. Heavyweight tag team contest: the Super Jr. Tag Team Tournament! Athletes from around the world have been assembled to prove their strength and ability in the ring. This year sees veteran teams and new up-and-comers vie for glory, with the opening matches taking place on October 23rd at Tokyo’s venerable Korakuen Hall!

The tag team that has many talking is the newly crowned IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champions, Roppongi 3K! Sho and Yoh made a triumphant return to Japan on October 9th at Ryogoku, after years honing their craft overseas. Now this explosive pair heads into the Super Jr. Tag Tournament facing competition hungry to knock them off their throne! The first team granted that opportunity will be KUSHIDA & Hirai Kawato: a seasoned veteran paired with a promising youth. Kawato has earned the respect of his partner, with KUSHIDA explaining, “This ain’t the same Kawato I saw yesterday…he’s grown. With that attitude, I think he’s got a bright future!” The first test for Roppongi 3K will be a must-see, as they face a champion many times over and a hungry Young Lion!

And the rivalry that scorched the FANTASTICA MANIA series and the G1 Special in USA this year will see a rekindling when Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI face Dragon Lee & Titán! While the Los Ingobernables de Japon pair are intent on showing their dominance in the tournament, Dragon Lee and Titán are coming to remind them of the strength of puro Lucha Libre!

On October 29th, get ready for the second round of matches at Korakuen Hall with legendary team Tiger Mask & Jyushin Thunder Liger v. Suzuki-Gun’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado, along with Ryusuke Taguchi & ACH v. TAKA Michinoku & TAICHI!

The entire tournament will be broadcast live and on-demand on NJPW World, so sign up today! http://njpwworld.com/
