Tama bids Nagoya farewell as EVIL steals NEVER win

EVIL captures NEVER title thanks to Narita

The main event of New beginning in Nagoya saw the NEVER Openweight Championship on the line, Tama Tonga defending freshly won gold against EVIL.

Watch the replay now!

Having done everything from cut the champion’s hair to remove his website profile, EVIL had pushed all the buttons Tama Tonga had to push, and an incensed Tonga charged at his challenger at the bell before being shut down by HOUSE OF TORTURE. The members of Hontai would charge to Tama’s aid though, and after the original bout was thrown out by Red Shoes Unno having devolved into a twelve man brawl, Tama demanded the match restart under Lumberjack rules.

While the odds were now even, H.O.T had the edge when it came to bending what rules there were left in this chaotic scenario. When Yoshinobu Kanemaru exposed the hardwood floor of the Dolphin’s Arena, the result was an ugly suplex, and even as Hontai stopped the interference before things got more dangerous for the champion, Tama still struggled until the chants of the Nagoya faithful and a lariat turned the tide.

Now it was EVIL on the back foot, and trying to escape with the NEVER title in hand, but was brought back into the ring by the Hontai lumberjacks. Tama set for a Gunstun on the spaghetti legged EVIL, but the King of Darkness pulled the referee in and landed a one man Magic Killer. Now with the referee down, H.O.T were quick to get involved before the champion’s side could make the save; a Pimp Juice by Yujiro on the outside set Tama up for Darkness Falls back in the ring, but EVIL only got two.

As Tonga fired up, he went for an O’Connor roll on EVIL, only to be shot into a chair shot through the ropes by Dickl Togo. On the toher side of the ring though, Jado responded in kind, a kendo stick ringing off EVIL’s skull. In a repeat of Tama’s first title win over EVIL, a leap over a pushed referee went right into Gunstun, but this time only got two; Deep Shack Driver followed up but a surefire three count was prevented by Togo. As the match once again descended into chaos, it was Ren Narita who was the key to victory, clocking Tonga with his pushup bar and setting EVCIL up for the three.

After EVIL made away with his ill gotten gains, Tama bade an emotional farewell to the Nagoya crowd, one of several goodbyes set to permeate the New Beginning series.
