Mox, Umino strike blow to HOUSE OF TORTURE in Ryogoku

Narita, Perry suffer loss ahead of Windy City Riot

One of the most anticipated bouts on the Sakura Genesis card April 6 saw Shota Umino and Jon Moxley taking on Ren Narita and Jack Perry of HOUSE OF TORTURE, ahead of Perry and Umino’s singles match at Windy City Riot.

Not wanting to wait for the bell Jon Moxley charged with his sights on Ren Narita, leaving Shota Umino his long-awaited chance to get his hands on Jack Perry. HOUSE OF TORTURE would counter quickly though, Narita tossing Moxley into the barriers at ringside whilst Perry kicked and suplexed Shota in the middle of the ring. Shota was next to feel the cold steel of the ringside barriers and a vertical suplex back in the ring. Narita and Shota would collide, Shota landing a neckbreaker before tagging Moxley into the match for the first time.

Moxley struck hard, levelling Narita with a thudding lariat and violently clawing the skin off his opponent’s back. Perry and Moxley would then meet for the first time in the match, Moxley hurling Perry into the announce table but his attention diverted long enough to allow Narita to execute an exploder suplexer on the outside and another back in the ring for a two count. Narita’s advantage was short-lived though, Moxley answering with a cutter as tags were made on both sides.

Erupting across the ring Shota outpaced Perry to deliver a precise fisherman suplex, Perry responding with an impressive double Northern Lights suplex and familiar looking elbow drop from the top rope. Moxley’s middle rope topé took out Narita and Shota immediately followed up by crunching Perry with a DDT on the apron; a soaring springboard drop kick and high-angle exploder suplex almost earning the victory for Shota.

Moxley and Narita entered the fray again, the Blackpool Combat Club man knocking Narita’s head off with two lariats before delivering a lofty superplex from the middle rope. Moxley’s aspirations of delivering Death Rider were avoided as Narita grabbed his favoured push-up bar weapon, but Shota valiantly pushed Moxley out of the way and took the blow himself. Ensuring Perry was out of the action, Moxley would finally catch Narita with the always definitive Death Rider to earn the victory.
