Jado’s Pick: KUSHIDA

A little while back at Hakata, KUSHIDA said in his post match comment ‘I gave myself a reason to keep on living’, and I thought that was a cool thing to say, so I’m picking him. The resolve he has, if he says something like that and comes up short that reflects badly on him right? Not only that but this would be his second BOSJ win in a row, and something he can use to backdoor himself into another title shot. It’s not enough to just be a pro and show up, you have to take responsibility for your words. If you’re a samurai that means seppuku if you don’t follow through. If he doesn’t win, I’ll be the one behind him with a katana to chop his head off.

Nobody else in the company would have the resolve to make a comment like KUSHIDA did, but he knows how much significance, how much weight the junior title has, how much weight carrying the division can be. So he’ll do it or I’ll do him in, heh.

★ A-Block match to watch:

Will Ospreay vs Taiji Ishimori (May 18, Korakuen)

Ishimori’s taking on Ospreay at a real crucial point in his career here. He’s the hungriest guy in this tournament and I think he has to win. This is really going to set the tone for the whole BOSJ.

★ B-Block match to watch:

Hiromu Takahashi vs El Desperado (May 22, Korakuen)

I’m really interested in this one. There’s something between these two, isn’t there? Such an emotional aura around this. I think both of them are acting like they’re not watching one another’s matches, but they are. They try and pass off that they don’t care about what the other’s doing, but they do.

But we won’t know until they go at it. They could gel well, or not at all. It could be a great match, or it could be a dud. But they both really want to say to each other ‘I’m the better wrestler!’. They feel like a pair of competitive cats clawing at each other.
