On June 17, Michael Elgin defends his freshly won NEVER Openweight Championship against Hirooki Goto. Elgin won the title June 9 at Dominion in a three way match, but former champion Goto wasn’t involved in the decision as an Elgin Bomb bested Taichi. Goto was gracious in handing the belt to new champion Elgin, but both men appealed for a singles match in backstage interviews. How will things go one on one, as Big Mike seeks to retain against Goto’s samurai spirit?

Also on June 17, all eyes will be on the Korakuen Hall screen after the fourth match of the show, as the participants in this year’s G1 Climax will be revealed. Who will be in, and who will Be A Survivor?

The next night, it’s the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on the line as Hiromu Takahashi faces El Desperado. Hiromu is on a huge roll, having won the Best of the Super Juniors, and going on to defeat Will Ospreay to clinch the title in an absolute war at Dominion. A bitter pill for Hiromu to swallow these last few weeks though was a loss to Desperado during the BOSJ tournament. When Despe interrupted Hiromu’s victory interview backstage, little needed to be said, and the Time Bomb agreed, yelling ‘you don’t need to say a thing! The next challenger is El Desperado!!’ How will these two top their last violent Korakuen encounter?

June 18 will also see G1 Climax news, as the group drawings for the tournament will be revealed!
