On June 19, we honor the career of the great Super Strong Machine, as the legendary ‘80s wrestler will be in the corner of a five man team in the Super Strong Machine Commemorative Invitational match.

The Machine Gundan will give Korakuen a throwback feel, consisting of SS Machine Ace, SS Machine Buffalo, SS Machine Justice, SS Machine Don and SS Machine 69. You might be able to recognize some familiar figures under those masked faces.

Super Strong Machine has been wowing fans for close to four decades, and was famous for being the first masked wrestler in NJPW history. A retirement ceremony had already been set for June 19, but on June 4, Ryusuke Taguchi decided to step things up a gear, stating backstage that SSM ‘doesn’t need to worry about a thing; I’m calling in the Machine Gundan!’ While fans may or may not have heard of the feared Machine Gundan, it’ll be quite a sight to see all six Machines (including SSM himself in their corner) all lined up in the ring. Post match will see the planned Super Strong Machine retirement ceremony take place; will this legend’s career end with his five charges picking up a win?
