Kazuchika Okada vs. Michael Elgin

After seemingly getting his groove back after beating Bad Luck Fale in Osaka earlier this month. Okada has his sights set on getting ‘his’ title back. In his way though, is Michael Elgin, who is returning to NJPW for the first time since a good run in World Tag League. Can Okada get his wish and get his re-match with Jay White at Madison Square Garden?

In their debut New Japan Cup, Mikey Nicholls will take on Hikuleo. Hikuleo returned to NJPW during Honor Rising as he helped his brothers to retake the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Mikey Nicholls will make his return to NJPW for the first time since 2015, in a match that is sure to be full of surprises.

The NEVER Openweight champion has faced a number of tough opponents since his reign began, but his debut New Japan Cup will begin with a fearsome challenge in the Rouge General, Bad Luck Fale. Fale for his part is looking to win the Cup for the first time, having reached the final twice. Will 2019 be the year that he finally achieves his ambition?

Toa Henare faces Lance Archer in his first match. Henare has been looking to prove himself as a heavyweight wrestler recently and the 2.03 meters tall Lance Archer is certainly a stiff test for him. Archer will also be desperate to win, having fallen in the first round of his previous 4 New Japan Cup entrances.
