Kizuna Road night 8 results and report

Night eight of Kizuna Road took place on June 23 in Iwate.

Match photos and results!

7th Match: CHAOS (Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI & Kazuchika Okada) defeated Suzuki-Gun (DOUKI, Lance Archer, Zack Sabre Junior & Minoru Suzuki) when YOSHI-Hashi pinned DOUKI.

YOSHI-HASHI and CHAOS once again scored a win against a furious, vengeful Suzuki-Gun. After YOSHI-HASHI scored the win with a Karms on DOUKI, he polled the crowd on his chances against ZSJ Tuesday in Sendai, to fervent applause from the Iwate crowd.

6th Match: SHO, YOH, Ryusuke Taguchi, Toa Henare & Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated BULLET CLUB (Gedo, Taiji Ishimori, El Phantasmo, Chase Owens & Jay White) when Taguchi submitted Gedo.

Taguchi again managed to hook Gedo in the Oh My and Garankle, forcing a submission with a clear message sent to Phantasmo. Taguchi and ELP meet for the Rev Pro British Cruiserweight Championship this Tuesday in Sendai.

5th Match: Los Ingobernables De Japon (EVIL & Tetsuya Naito) defeated Shota Umino & Kota Ibushi when Naito pinned Umino.

Despite EVIL’s coldness toward his LIJ team mates in the wake of the G1 announcements, he and Naito functioned like a well oiled machine in this match. Ibushi was, as ever, fired up against Naito, and Umino continued to show growth, pressuring EVIL and Naito to use the Out of Control double team for the win, a move Naito used to use in his No Limit tag team.

4th Match: Los Ingobernables De Japon (SANADA, BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) defeated Jyushin Thunder Liger, Tomoaki Honma & Togi Makabe when SANADA submitted Honma.

LIJ units continue to be in effective teams on the Kizuna Road tour, helped by the fact that G1 block opponents EVIL and SANADA, and Takagi and Naito, are kept separate. SANADA and Takagi could function well as a team, and BUSHI as ever provided effective support in a match that ended with Skull End on Honma.

3rd Match: BULLET CLUB (Yujiro Takahashi, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) defeated Juice Robinson, Mikey Nicholls & Ren Narita when Takahashi pinned Narita.

Pimp Juice spelled the end for a spirited Narita. Guerrillas of Destiny again stood tall over Nicholls and Robinson two days before colliding in non-title action in Sendai, and a week out from another tag match in Melbourne.

2nd Match: Suzuki-Gun (Taichi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) defeated Tiger Mask & Yuya Uemura when Kanemaru submitted Uemura.

Tiger Mask’s hood was again the target of the underhanded Suzuki Gun team. Uemura brought tough strikes to match his partner’s, but was caught in a Kanemaru Boston Crab for the submission loss.

1st Match: Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan defeated Yota Tsuji & Yuji Nagata when Kojima pinned Tsuji.

Tsuji continued to be inspired by mentor Nagata to bring the fight to his veteran opponents, but ultimately fell to a Kojima lariat.
