At New Year Dash!!, Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi teamed with new IWGP Tag Team Champions FinJuice to send BULLET CLUB packing. The colourful foursome seemed to have a whale of a time, but before leaving in celebratory mood, Tanahashi and Ibushi seemed to infer they may team up to take on the new tag champs sometime soon.

Ever since Ibushi and Tanahashi met in the G1 Climax finals in 2018, Tanahashi has been wanting the very best out of Ibushi as a professional wrestler and standard bearer for NJPW. Ibushi credits Tanahashi with giving him the resolve to lead the company having signed a lifetime deal with NJPW last spring. Since then, both have had their setbacks; Ibushi went 0-2 in the Double Gold Dash at Wrestle Kingdom, while Hiroshi Tanahashi fell to Chris Jericho. Yet the two of them together should make for an unstoppable force.

One pairing in their way is the Guerrillas of Destiny. GoD are determined not to let this fresh team leap to the front of the contendership line. February 1 in Atlanta, they get a rematch for the tag titles they lost to FinJuice in the Tokyo Dome, and will look to make an example of Ibushi and Tanahashi before that happens.

In the semi main event, Rocky Romero and FinJuice will face Jado, Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi, as NJPW and CHAOS continue their war with BULLET CLUB.

In singles action, Alex Zayne takes on Lance Archer. Zayne made waves on social media for his phenomenal athleticism on the independent scene, and got his first shot in NJPW at Showdown in LA. Now he’s back for New Beginning but to say he has a mountain to climb in the Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer is the wildest of understatements.

Jeff Cobb takes on Ren Narita. Now four months removed from embarking on excursion to the LA Dojo, Narita will need to call on every tool picked up from his Noge and LA coaches as he takes on a former Olympian and Never Champion.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express return for New Beginning, and they’ll take on Colt Cabana and Toru Yano. Cabana and Yano came very close to wrecking the bracket for World Tag League, but how will they fare against one of the greatest tag teams of all time?

With Yuji Nagata and Satoshi Kojima facing Alex Coughlin and Karl Fredericks, and Misterioso and YOSHI-HASHI meeting Clark Connors and TJP, you need to be a part of New Beginning in Miami LIVE!
