On Thursday May 18, 2017 New Japan Pro-Wrestling held a press conference in Long Beach, California that featured numerous announcements for the upcoming “G1 Special in the USA”

The first night of these industry changing events, will air live on AXS TV starting at 8pm EST/5pm PST. NJPWWorld subscribers outside of the United States will be able to watch live, while subscribers inside the United States will be able to watch on NJPWWorld ‘On Demand” the following day.

As previously announced, the 2 nights will feature a tournament to crown the very first IWGP United States Champion. You will also see defenses of The IWGP Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Intercontinental Championship, The IWGP Heavyweight & IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.

The press conference featured appearances by members of The Bullet Club, “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega, “The American Nightmare” Cody & ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks.

Kenny Omega vowed to enter Long Beach as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Cody has his eyes on making waves at the G1 Special in the USA,

The Young Bucks proclaimed themselves and the fellow Bullet Club members as the reason these events sold out, the reason every television company wants to air them live. The brash duo held nothing back!
