Major title matches highlight two nights at New Beginning in Hiroshima

Double IWGP title match headlines a pair of huge Hiroshima events

The New Beginning tour will culminate on February 10 and 11 in Hiroshima’s Sun Plaza Hall, with three championship matches and more besides over the two nights.

Top of the billing is the main event on night two, February 11. After a legend making pair of performances on January 4 and 5 at Wrestle Kingdom, Kota Ibushi defends his IWGP Intercontinental and Heavyweight Championships for the second time against Cold Skull SANADA. SANADA stayed true to his style and his vision of professional wrestling to overcome EVIL on January 5, and after the night’s epic main event saw Ibushi victorious, was quick to challenge. Proclaiming himself the hope of the wrestling world, SANADA challenged Ibushi to a rematch of the G1 Climax 30 final, a match he was within a fraction of a second of winning. Now Cold Skull is the next challenge for Ibushi in an ongoing mission to broaden the world of professional wrestling, but will SANADA end that mission early?

Headlining on February 10, SHO will challenge IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi. Hiromu had his own fantastic pair of performances at Wrestle Kingdom, defeating El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori on successive nights to become IWGP Jr. heavyweight Champion for the fourth time. Yet while his achievements on January 4 & 5 have deservedly earned him the label of the best junior heavyweight wrestler in the world, one man, SHO can say he’s beaten the best. In Osaka during Best of the Super Jr., a thrilling main event, SHO’s career first, saw him victorious with the Shock Arrow. Now he steps forward to challenge the IWGP Jr. heavyweight Champion for the first time. Will he start his 2021 with the biggest and best shock possible?

Also on February 10, IWGP Tag Team Championships are on the line when Guerrillas of Destiny defend against Dangerous Tekkers. On January 4 at Wrestle Kingdom, G.o.D broke a long standing Tokyo Dome curse to become record setting seven time IWGP Tag Team Champions. Yet they did so in controversial form, Taichi’s own Iron Finger From Hell used against him by Tama Tonga, before Tanga Loa pickled up the pinfall victory. Ever since, Tonga has assumed possession of the demonic fingers, something that has made Taichi irate. Now Dangerous Tekkers seek both the gold and the iron they feel rightfully belong to them.

And on night one in Hiroshima, Master Wato goes head to head with BUSHI. After new year Dash, BUSHI laid down an arrogant challenge to Wato, saying that he’d beat the young man one on one just for ‘something to do’. Wato will not take such an insulting challenge lying down, and wants to prove to BUSHI that he is not to be taken lightly.
