El Phantasmo makes STRONG debut, Lio Rush inbound 【NJoA】

Superkick gives ELP his first win on Friday night

El Phantasmo made his NJPW STRONG debut in a six man tag team main event this Friday, with a convincing pinfall win over Blake Christian.

The main event of the evening saw ELP the focal point of a BULLET CLUB trio alongside IWGP US Heavyweight number one contender KENTA and the impressive Young Gun Hikuleo, opposite Christian, ACH and Fred Rosser. Christian and ACH both suffered under the vicious and controversial tactics of Phantasmo during Super J-Cup 2020, and were hungry for revenge, but ACH would find himself in the wrong part of town in the early going.

The J-Cup finalist would fight his way free to bring in Rosser, who took the fight to the biggest member of the match in Hikuleo. Certainly showing the world a heavyweight contest that might be a STRONG highlight on Fridays to come, Rosser also helped Christian to fly at the big man with a spectacular airborne assault, though it would be an equally spectacular chokeslam that would put ‘all heart’ on the mat.

As the match broke down, Christian and Phantasmo found themselves the legal men. With the referee momentarily distracted, Phantasmo scored with his brutal superkick to score the win. In post match comments, Phantasmo alluded to Lio Rush’s impending STRONG debut, and insisted he had no fear in facing the Man of the Hour once again. Doth Phantasmo protest too much? We’ll find out soon enough.
