Shingo Takagi spits fire at Tanahashi as the Road to New Beginning continues

Night three on the Road to The New Beginning sees LIJ victorious.

Los Ingobernables De Japon came out with the win on January 19 as night three on the Road to The New Beginning brought violent clashes up and down the card before the tour’s first major stop in Ota Saturday.

Feberuary 10’s IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion and challenger were first to start in the main event, Hiromu Takahashi exploding out of the gates with a shotgun dropkick to SHO, only to be bowled over with a pair of shoulder tackles. Hiroshi Tanahashi helped keep the pressure up on Hiromu, but a quick intervention from BUSHI and shots to the outside guardrail would see SHO in the wrong corner.

Shingo Takagi was only to happy to punish his NEVER Openweight challenger from last summer, all the while casting insults at his opponent in Nagoya on January 30 while Tanahashi tried in vain to get the tag. It would be Master Wato who did eventually get the touch from SHO, and the blue wonder quickly dove at BUSHI with a leg lariat, before the Ace and the Dragon hit the ring and picked up where they left off on Monday.

As the restricted crowd clapped in approval, Tanahashi brought the fight to Takagi, but the NEVER Champion resisted a Dragon Screw to land one of his own at the ten minute mark. The openweight champion would run through two junior heavyweights to boot, as a double lariat knocked down Wato and SHO before a Ryukon Lariat got two, but SHO intervened before the Last of the Dragon could connect.

With the match breaking down, SHO and Tanahashi were both taken out of commission by first BUSHI and then Shingo. Wato came within a hair of rolling up Takagi twice, but a Dreamcast attempt was caught out of midair and transitioned into the Last of the Dragon for three.

Post match, Takagi had harsh comments for Tanahashi, saying that the Ace didn’t have enough respect for either the NEVER Championship or its holder. Will the Ace be getting a lesson in respect on January 30, or will we have a new NEVER Openweight Champion at The New Beginning?
