NJPW STRONG preview: Ren Narita in tag main; KENTA speaks 【NJoA】

Tag team action headlines Friday night

A big time tag team main event on STRONG this week will see Team Filthy in full effect while Ren Narita looks to progress on STRONG. Meanwhile, with time ticking down to MOX vs KENTA, the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship challenger will give his thoughts this week.

Watch NJPW STRONG Friday at 10e/9c on NJPW World!

Main event: TJP & Ren Narita vs Team Filthy (Chris Dickinson & Danny Limelight)

Friday’s main event will see TJP team up with Ren Narita as he continues his excursion, the duo facing Team Filthy’s Chris Dickinson and Danny Limelight.

Ren narita made his NJPW STRONG debut just a couple of weeks ago, submitting ROH’s Bateman in impressive fashion with the Narita Special #3. Keen to show that he has very much graduated from Noge Young Lion status, narita has declared he still has a long way to go, and wants to prove himself against any competition available.

Such is the case for Team Filthy, and Chris Dickinson in particular. Undefeated thus far in NJPW, Dickinson has exploded onto the Friday night scene in 2021. Though his size edge could see him try to overpower both TJP and Nairta in this bout, one has to wonder whether Dickinson’s considerable pride in his grappling abilities will make this bout a technical joy to watch.

Adding more attitude to proceedings is the loud mouthed Danny Limelight. Team Filthy’s junior heavyweight representative has the natural talent to back his talk up, and he’ll be looking to show Fil-Am Flash what he can do tonight.

This week’s NJPW STRONG marks only two weeks to go until the match the world is talking about: Jon Moxley vs KENTA for the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship. After an intense Moxley declared that KENTA would ‘have to kick a hole through (my) chest’ to win the title this week, and two days removed from a falls count anywhere tag team preview on AEW Dynamite, what does KENTA have to say about the US Champion? Find out this week!

2nd Match: Clark Connors vs Bateman

Clark Connors takes on Bateman in the second match of the evening. After a hyped NJPW STRONG debut saw ROH’s twisted representative fall to Ren Narita, Bateman had to reset, and did so effectively with an eight man tag team victory this Friday. Now Bateman needs to prove his worth in a singles environment, and against the captain of the LA Dojo team that Narita represents.

1st Match: Jordan Clearwater vs JR Kratos

The action will kick off Friday with Jordan Clearwater facing Team Filthy’s super heavyweight muscle, JR Kratos. Clearwater is used to having the size advantage on his opponents, but Kratos will be a different story. Can Clearwater’s potential be enough to overcome Kratos’ brute strength and ability?
