Dangerous Tekkers regain iron, G.o.D retain tag gold

A disqualification end to tag title bout in Hiroshima

Night one of the New Beginning in Hiroshima saw the Guerrillas of Destiny retain the IWGP Tag Team Championships, but in chaotic form, winning via disqualification as Taichi regained control of the Iron Finger From Hell.

Continuing his trend of taunting Taichi with his acquisition of Takashi Iizuka’s iron glove, Tama Tonga brought a series of mysterious bags to the ring for the bout, all served as a distraction to for the Guerrillas to get the jump on their challengers. As Zack Sabre Jr. held Tanga Loa at bay and DOUKI brawled up the aisle with Jado, Taichi opened the bags one by one, growing increasingly frustrated with their contents and getting distracted from the match itself, allowing the champions to take control.

Taichi was frequently frustrated as G.o.D neatly divided the ring, keeping the challenger in the wrong corner; Tonga responding with an enzuigiri as Taichi tried to fire in leg kicks to recover. A high kick in the corner though, and Taichi finally had time and distance, hauling himself to the corner to bring in Zack Sabre Jr. at well past the 10 minute mark.

Sabre set to work torturing Loa, and even Tonga’s interruption wouldn’t stop the Briton, a neck twist to Tonga allowing the challenger to remain in control of his larger opponent. Arm ringers and shoulder work kept Loa troubled, but a spear powered through the pain, bringing Tonga back inside for a pair of reverse neckbreakers to both challengers.

Feeling the end was near at the 15 minute mark, G.o.D set up for Magic Killer on ZSJ; Sabre escaped, and after withstanding a splash in the corner, and countering a powerbomb attempt, Taichi came back in to assist. Loa prevented a Zack Driver however, and a Jackhammer connected to leave both men on the mat.

With Taichi back inside, the Holy Emperor went right for the throat on Tonga, before laying out his tormentor with an Ax Bomber. Just as the match was coming the challengers’ way, a Tongan Twist lay in wait. The persistent Taichi wouldn’t let go however, blocking two Gunstun attempts before landing a Dangerous Backdrop.

The trousers came off for Taichi, but on cue, Loa came in with a powerslam. The match broke down, with Guerrilla Tactics putting ZSJ to the mat as Taichi was left to fend for himself. The champions looked to finish Taichi with the Super Powerbomb, but again Taichi wouldn’t die, escaping the hold and connecting well with the recovered Sabre, who prevented Apesh*t and ping-ponged Tonga between both challengers with elbows.

An emphatic Zack Mephisto scored certain victory for Dangerous Tekkers, but Loa pulled the referee out of the ring and into the guardrail. With the match passing the 25 minute mark, an enzuigiri put Loa to the mat, but with every participant in the match laid out, it was Jado on his feet and heading to the ring with the Iron Fingers for Tonga.

The fingers laid out the intervening DOUKI, but Taichi blocked a shot meant for him. A ZSJ rear naked choke stopped Tonga from using the weapon on Taichi, who was finally reunited with the weapon; shots flew to Loa and Jado before a huge shot rocked Tonga, but in full view of the referee a disqualification was the result. Reunited with his iron finger, but not with the tag team gold, Taichi reacted furiously; will Dangerous Tekkers now be able to reset in their quest for tag gold, or instead change focus in days to come?
