Elimination main event in Korakuen Hall
Wednesday June 16 will see the third in a Korakuen triple header, as CHAOS and BULLET CLUB meet in a big elimination main event, and Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura’s gauntlets continue.
Main event: Elimination Match- CHAOS (SHO, YOH, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI) vs BULLET CLUB (El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & Dick Togo)
Headlining in Korakuen Hall Wednesday will be a wild elimination battle between CHAOS and BULLET CLUB. This ten man tag will also represent a pair of previews of next week’s championship matches, with BULLET CLUB teams challenging for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag team Championships and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on June 22 and 23 respectively. Who will be left standing, and what messages will be delivered by champions and challengers in this main event?
4th Match: Los Ingobernables De Japon (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, Shingo Takagi & BUSHI) vs Suzuki-Gun (Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr., El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)
Eight man action sees future tag contenders Tetsuya Naito and SANADA square off with Dangerous Tekkers once again. With IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado in the mix, this all star championship eight man tag is definitely one to keep tabs on.
3rd Match: Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe & Kota Ibushi vs Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata
The third match of the night sees some significant returns to Japanese competition for Yuji Nagata and Satoshi Kojima after big time Stateside matches, while Togi Makabe returns from shooting a major movie to hit the ring. Meanwhile Kota Ibushi will be trying to outshine the other five in this trios tag to send a deliberate message to world champion Shingo Takagi.
2nd Match: Kazuchika Okada vs Yota Tsuji
The night will kick off with Yota tsuji and Yuya Uemura’s challenge gauntlets continuing. Every night on this tour beings with it a ton of pressure, but what more pressure could arise than from a pair of singles matches to two wrestlers that could be the greatest of the future era against two of inarguably the greatest of the modern era? Yota Tsuji is hungry for an excursion to Mexico, one Okada took on his own volition to start his career while still a teenager. Lucha influences could be they key for Tsuji to make a mark on the fans and on Okada in this one, but in his first singles match since his failed challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Okada wants to get right back on his horse, and will likely not be looking to entertain the Young Lion long.
1st Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Yuya Uemura
After Tsuji kicks off his tour with Tanahashi, Uemura has the Ace next. Tanahashi no doubt has respect for Uemura’s classical stylings, but will that style see him to an impressive performance tonight?
