Fred Yehi & Wheeler Yuta pick up win as STRONG tag teams emerge 【NJoA】

STRONG’s tag team division continues to grow as Yehi and Yuta score big main event win

The main event this Friday night on NJPW STRONG this week saw Fred Yehi victorious in his NJPW debut alongside Wheeler Yuta, as the two polished off Misterioso and Jordan Clearwater.

Two technical masters making big names for themselves in ROH’s Pure division, Yehi and Yuta effectively controlled Misterioso in the early goings, and though Jordan Clearwater gave pause for Big Papi Pump, fared little better as he took an impactful German suplex from Yuta.

A pair of vertical suplexes from Clearwater, though, and Misterioso was back inside, connecting with double knees in the corner and a giro. The masked man and Clearwater scored together with a double flapjack as well, before Misterioso connected with a double moonsault to Yehi. Yet as the match broke down, it was Clearwater legal. Clearwater did not see a blind tag from Yehi to come in while the big man had his hands full with Yuta, and a Koji Clutch sealed the deal for the debuting team.

Also on STRONG this week, Rocky Romero and Lio Rush picked up a win over Clark Connors and the DKC. Connors and the DKC brought the fight to Romero and Rush before Rush Hour ended the match, but drama continued after the bell as both men brawled around ringside.

Meanwhile, Alex Coughlin bravely battled Hikuleo to a hard fought loss in the opener. After falling to the Tongan Driver, Coughlin said he ‘loved every second’ of the battle and issued an open challenge to anyone, anywhere that can come to STRONG and pit themselves against him. Who will step up to face Coughlin?
