-- You were on the list of wrestlers Cody most wanted to face after leaving WWE. What were your thoughts on a match he was hotly anticipating?

Shibata:
‘Really? For me it was just another day in the office. Well, if your opponent’s motivated that comes out in the match. But me, every day, any day, anywhere any country! Every ring is the same. If my opponent’s invested in a match I want to tear it up with them.’

--Do you think you'll have the chance to face one another again?

Shibata:
‘What I think, what I want, I don't need words for. Take ideas, feelings, desires into the ring and smash them into one another. That's my breed of wrestling. That's all!’

Lethal:
‘Oh, boy. Cody, it seems you’re pissing everybody off! I mean now you’ve got Shibata breathing down your throat. Everywhere you go, you seem to be the scummiest person in the locker room, and I’ve had it. In just a few short moments, Cody, I will have you in a Bull rope match, something your dad made famous! And in that match, I will end you, Cody. April 1st in Florida Cody, you will be mine, in a Bull rope match. Even sweeter.’


Cody: (to Young Lion)
‘Get outta here! I don’t think anything needs to be said. That’s reconnaissance. Oh, Shibata! Some God, some deity! None of that! That’s his best shot? Here’s all my cards on the table? None of that. Shibata. I’m so tired of hearing about Shibata. And Jay Lethal. Lazy Jay. This is done. This is done. You’re lucky for the time you had.’
