‘I really felt that with these two encouraging us, and the circumstances we were in, we had to give even more than normal. To have the shot out of the blue like this and to win is awesome. It's a bittersweet feeling to have this opportunity and win because of Honma’s injury, but he'll come back and when he does, we’ll be honoured to give them a title shot. All he has to do is get back here! How long has it been since we had these?’

Tenzan:
‘Wow. That's a long, long time. But now we’re champs again, how will things turn out? I'm excited to find out myself. I want us to fight to keep these belts all over New Japan again. Thank you Nagata!’

--You used the kokeshi during that match..?

Kojima:
‘I won't say I'm happy or excited to be champion. I can't. Obviously that's because of Honma. We have a mission now, me and Tenzan to make sure we stay champions until Honma comes back. Nobody could have foreseen how we got these belts. We’re just inches from the void, nobody knows what can happen. That goes for Honma’s injury, but it goes for us challenging as well! And it goes for us being champions. Life’s full of surprises, wrestling’s full of surprises, and for better or for worse, that's why it's never dull. I plan for us to do our best as champions. Thank you!’
