BIOGRAPHY

YOH entered the February 2012 New Japan tryouts and made his debut opposite Takaaki Watanabe on the November 19 NEVER event. A promising Young Lion, he competed at Best of the Super Juniors for the first time in June 2015. After a thrilling Korakuen Hall match on January 24 2016, he departed for a learning excursion to CMLL with Sho Tanaka. From CMLL, they headed to ROH.

YOH returned to New Japan on October 9, 2017. With SHO, and under the tutelage of Rocky Romero, he formed Roppongi 3K. That same night, they defeated Ricochet and Ryusuke Taguchi to become the 54th IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. SHO and YOH would also win the annual junior heavyweight tag team tournament, in both elimination and league format, two years in a row. They would hold the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships twice more in the coming years, but as of spring 2019, had yet to make a successful defence of the titles. Nevertheless, RPG3K were an impressive, spectacular and charismatic tag team.

With SHO as a powerful base for the team, YOH was a versatile technician. His flash pin signature, the Five Star Clutch became a potent match ender, both in tag team and singles competition.
