After a background in American football in college, Yota Tsuji debuted in 2018, and became one of the most striking and popular of Young Lion contenders.
Going on excursion to the UK and Mexico in 2021, Tsuji wasn’t seen until Dontaku 2023. There, after weeks of mysterious videos, Tsuji returned to confront the IWGP World heavyweight Champion SANADA, delivering a massive spear and issuing a challenge for Dominion on June 4.
Tsuji fell short in his challenge, but still talked a big game into G1 Climax 33, and on to challenging Will Ospreay for the IWGP UK Championship in Kobe September 24, a bout that saw his stock rise even in defeat after a stunning battle. With explosive power and athleticism that belies his size, Tsuji continues to work to show he can back up his big mouth with big time results.
