Fighting out of Lexington Kentucky, Alex Zayne was not in the wrestling business for long when his matches with the likes of Robbie Eagles caught the attention of fans around the world on social media. Zayne made his NJPW debut at Showdown in 2019, before becoming part of the NJPW STRONG roster; after a brief sojourn to compete in WWE, he returned in the fall of 2021 and pushed Will Ospreay hard in his comeback match in Philadelphia.
May 2022 saw Zayne participate in his first Best of the Super Jr. tournament. Though he came away with a negative 4-5 record, his stunning in ring performances were matched with a mutual love and appreciation for and from Japan and its fans. It was clear by tournament’s end that Japan had not had its last taste of ‘The Sauce’.
