BIOGRAPHY

After turning heads with an aggressive attitude an effective, hard hitting in ring style, Ren Narita impressed as a Young Lion before entering the 2019 Young Lion Cup.

Narita would end the tournament tied for second place. Eager to learn more, he would ask to join Katsuyori Shibata’s LA Dojo, and was accepted, heading to the US to continue his journey. With matches against Tom Lawlor and Will Ospreay, Narita continued his advance in the US. Ending his excursion by defeating Juice Robinson in a bloody Las Vegas war, Narita rebranded himself as the Son of Strong Style, and made his homecoming October 10 2022 at Declaration of Power.

Narita would enter the tournament to crown the first NJPW World TV Champion, and stunned crowds with big wins over Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano and SANADA.  Though Narita fell just short of the gold at the final hurdle, Narita would be first of his generation of talent to claim championship gold, teaming with El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki to form the Strong Style team and capture the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Championships.

Narita would struggle through the summer after losing the championships, but was encouraged by re-connecting with rival and friend Shota Umino. After a Best of Seven trios series ended in a tie at Destruction in Ryogoku, the two entered World tag League 2023 together. But when results didn’t go the pair’s way, Narita turned his back on Umino and joined forces with HOUSE OF TORTURE. Defeating a former mentor in Suzuki at Windy City Riot, Narita became Jon Moxley’s first challenger in his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship reign at Wrestling Dontaku.
