Uemura Makes Resurgence Statement; Joins LA Dojo 【NJoA】

Yuya Uemura scores win on first day of excursion; joins LA Dojo

Ten man tag action at Resurgence saw the complete lineup for Team Filthy together for the first time, Tom Lawlor, Royce Isaacs, Jorel Nelson JR Kratos and Danny Limelight facing STRONG Openweight number one contender Lio Rush, Chris Dickinson, Fred Yehi, Yuya Uemura and substitude Adrian Quest.

A hectic bout started with Chris Dickinson in charge, before being cut off by the powerful JR Kratos, but as bodies flew, Quest made his mark, clearing the ring before Limelight and Rush brought the pace. Just 24 hours after he showed up Limelight and Lawlor on STRONG, Rush frustrated the STRONG Openweight Champion before bringing Quest back inside, a Mistica from Young Fuego scoring, before Isaacs stalled his momentum with a powerslam  assist.

As the match hit the five minute mark, Quest found himself in a bad part of town, and physically dominated by Kratos, who flung his opponent clear across the ring. Team Filthy punished and mocked Quest, before a Codebreaker led to a tag to the fired up Uemura taking his first excursion steps to hit a dropkick in the corner to Limelight and a suplex for two.

Uemura’s mometum was stopped with a WCWC double suplex, and the match broke down into chaos once more. Former partners Dickinson and Lawlor found themselves exchanging blows before a TTD struck from Lawlor, but Rush would dive in with a jumping high. As bodies continued to fly, Quest landed a high kick to Kratos and then a quebrada to the floor, leaving Rush with the huge Most Feared.

Rush looked for a hurricanrana to Kratos, but found himself hoisted and fling to the pile. Kratos moved to dive himself, but was stopped with a massive Uemura powerbomb. As Limelight found himself center ring, he was dropped with Rush Hour from Lio, and then the Deadbolt Suplex gave Uemura the win for his team.

Post match, Uemura addressed the crowd in LA, expressing his intentions to get stronger in the LA Dojo. With a simple ‘come with me’, Katsuyori Shibata welcomed Uemura officially to the team. Elaborating backstage, Uemura declared firmly that he is no longer a Young Lion, but that in his ongoing quest for improvement, Shibata and the Dojo present an ideal environment. All eyes will be on his ongoing progress.
