The fourth match of Yokohama Arena’s NJPW vs NOAH card on January 21 saw Yoshiki Inamura and Kaito Kiyomiya face Kazuchika Okada and Togi Makabe, but the world leanred very quickly that this would be no mere exhibition.

Kiyomiya requested to start proceedings against Okada, but the Rainmaker wouldn’t even look at the GHC Heavyweight Champion and let his tag partner start the match against Inamura instead, the two hoss men launching into a test of body tackles that climaxed in a chunky lariat from Makabe and a tag to Okada. With Inamura stuck in an Okada submission, Kiyomiya inserted himself into the ring and struck Okada in the face with an incredibly harsh kick that split Okada open in the middle of his forehead. The action very quickly broke down as Okada flew at Kiyomiya and unloaded a barrage of stiff kicks and punches on the outside, even hitting a sickening headbutt. Kiyomiya fought back with slaps and punches, the action representative more of a street fight than a wrestling match.

Okada hurtled Kiyomiya into the English announce table, and as Makabe tried to hold back Okada the GHC Heavyweight Champion dove back in with a dropkick that caught both men in the face. Despite the efforts of Inamura, Makabe and the referee to bring a semblance of order to the match the incensed men could not be tamed and would not listen so the referee was forced to call for the bell, ending the match in a no contest. But before Okada could walk away, Kiyomiya grabbed a microphone and challenged Okada to a singles match. Kiyomiya repeated those calls backstage, while a furious Okada left without comment.
