The road to the Tokyo Dome has just begun for G1 Climax 27 winner Tetsuya Naito. He must now defend his right to challenge in the main event at Wrestle Kingdom! He has selected Tomohiro Ishii as his first challenger, a choice he hopes will earn him an opportunity for revenge. Naito suffered two G1 losses this year to the Stone Pitbull: one in the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship Tournament in the G1 Special in US, and one in the block stages of the G1 Climax. Never one to back down from a fight, Ishii was more than happy to oblige the LIJ leader and go for third time’s a charm. It’s more than just the Tokyo Dome on the line, now it’s personal!

In the main event, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada will defend his title against The King of Darkness himself, EVIL! Their G1 Climax bout this summer proved to be one of the stand-out matches of the series, and saw The Rainmaker suffer a rare defeat in singles competition. EVIL has pounced on this weakness and looks to usurp the reign of New Japan’s top champion! With power and tenacity few can match, EVIL is looking to envelope Okada, and the whole of New Japan, in a new era of Darkness!
