Umino, BCC stand tall in Long Beach six man 【NJoA】

Umino Mox set sights on Okada after trios contest

An intense and hotly anticipated six man bout at Resurgence May 21 saw the resturn of Jon Moxley to in ring action in NJPW for the first time in almost a year as he teamed with protege Shota Umino and fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta against the CHAOS side of Rocky Romero, Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii.

Umino wanted to start with Okada, but got Ishii instead; when Okada did get in he was in no mood for games as he booted the Roughneck around the ring. After a front slam, Umino would get to Yuta, who stretched Rocky with a bow and arrow; though Romero got on a streak of Forever Clotheslines, he would be cut off with a cartwheel slam. Moxley and Yuta would pick their shots as they tortured Rocky, and Umino would capitalise as Okada got ever more frustrated on the apron.

Romero was in deep trouble before a springboard DDT saw him finally tag in Ishii. The Stone Pitbull built momentum, exploding through Umino and the BCC; Yuta would throw elbows at Ishii but got dumped with a backdrop suplex for his troubles. A distraction from Moxley though, and Yuta would strike in combination before tagging in Mox, who found the Bulldog Choke on Ishii as his team picked off the CHAOS members on the apron.

When the BCC got too involved in ring, Ishii was able to take advantage of the confusion, and pinballed his opponents with suplexes before tagging in Okada. The Rainmaker took over on ‘Shooter’, but Umino escaped a Tombstone attempt for an exploder, and then slingshotted into the ring with a DDT at the 15 minute mark. The Deathrider would be countered by Okada though, and a reverse neckbreaker would be the cue for CHAOS to take care of the BCC outside. Okada buried an elbow drop in ring, but Moxley would hit the ring to prevent a Rainmaker.

Mox and Okada hurled bombs center ring, and when Umino tried to take advantage of the distraction, Ishii levelled the Roughneck with a lariat. Romero caught Umino in the Diablo Armbar, but Yuta made the save; as the match continued to break down, bodies flew everywhere. Moxley was clobbered with a Rainmaker, but Umino dropped both Okada and Romero with Deathriders for three.
