After two successful intakes in 2023, NJPW Academy will return to the LA Dojo in 2024 with another round of courses beginning January 22! Whether you are looking to begin your pro-wrestling journey or you’re ready to push yourself to the next level, start your 2024 STRONG at NJPW Academy!

Located in Carson, California, NJPW Academy was established in March 2023 behind coaches KUSHIDA, Fred Rosser, Rocky Romero, The DKC and Bateman. NJPW Academy is now becoming a destination for opportunity for wrestlers looking for advancement in their career or to build a solid foundation through basic techniques and fundamentals.

NJPW Academy offers Beginners and Advanced level courses, with both taking place over 24 sessions across a 12 week period. Both sessions cost $2,400 if paid in two installments, or $2,200 if paid upfront. Previous NJPW Academy students will receive a discounted price.

Fred Rosser comment:

2023 has been one of the most rewarding years of my career being able to mentor the first two NJPW Academy classes. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with students from all around the world, helping them to get better inside of the ring and hone their craft. Even though I serve as head coach of NJPW Academy, I still consider myself a student of the game and I truly believe the biggest education for me is what very little I know. To anyone interested in joining NJPW Academy, dream big with me and never, ever let small minds convince you that your dream is out of reach. It might be out of reach for them, but we know better. The attention to detail is what separates NJPW Academy from all other schools! 2024, you know what time it is! It’s time to go to work at NJPW Academy!

DKC comment:

I take pride in representing the NJPW Academy and the LA Dojo. It’s very important to me that I pass on the knowledge given to me during my time as a young lion under Katsuyori Shibata and uphold that standard of excellence. Here we focus on bringing out the toughness and fighting spirit that is required for the New Japan style while maintaining an encouraging and supportive environment. I am passionate about working with the best of the next generation of professional wrestlers and instilling solid fundamentals that will serve them to the start of their new career. In addition to this all-star lineup of coaches, a few NJPW Academy graduates have been making moves:

Johnnie Robbie heads to CMLL for Grand Prix De Amazonas and will be competing in a special CMLL women’s tag team match at Fighting Spirit Unleashed on October 28th.

Matt Vandagriff and Buck Skynyr will meet in a STRONG Survivor Match at Fighting Spirit Unleashed on October 28th.

Trish Adora has been a steady presence on weekly Ring of Honor TV on Honor Club.

Johnnie Robbie comment: 

NJPW Academy and the trainers I shared the ring with brought out a type of confidence you can’t find anywhere else. The Academy brought out my true fire. It taught me how to walk into the unknown and be absolutely prepared for it.

Buck Skynyr comment:

Beginners Course

Mondays & Wednesdays – 7pm-10pm

Coaches: The DKC & TBA

Designed for those with 0-1 year of wrestling training

Goal: to learn the basics and fundamentals of pro-wrestling

Advanced Course

Tuesdays & Thursdays – 7pm-10pm

Dates: January 23 – April 11, 2024

Coaches: KUSHIDA & Fred Rosser

Designed for those with over 1 year of wrestling training and match experience

Goal: to advance students’ careers by learning from high level wrestlers with global experience.
