Moxley strikes a blow to BULLET CLUB
One of many highlights on the Lonestar Shootout card saw a preview of a controversial three way match at Wrestle Kingdom, as David Finlay and KENTA took on Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta.
Finlay and KENTA would get the jump on the Blackpool Combat Club on their entrance, and when the match finally got started officially in the ring, took charge of Yuta. Moxley was eager to get inside, and when he did, exploded on KENTA, unleashing a delayed piledriver and then BCC signature 12-6 elbows. Appropriately for the local, Moxley would put KENTA in a Texas Cloverleaf and then spiked his foe with a cutter, but a double team would be cut off by Finlay and now it was Moxley under the gun.
A swing for the fences with a lariat from Moxley would see Yuta tagged back inside; the younger member of the BCC got quick and had Finlay worried until an Irish Curse and Dominator applied the brakes. Yuta would again find his way to Moxley, who teed off with Finlay; a spear would cut Mox off, and KENTA followed up with a double stomp to the affected midsection. Overhand rights would rock KENTA, but a Go 2 Sleep would be countered into Death Rider for three. Moxley didn’t take his eyes off Finlay as his hand was raised in Texas.
