World Tag League night 6 (November 26)

Fukushima sees B Block’s third bouts

The World Tag League heads to Fukushima on Sunday November 26 with much to play for in the group before we reach the midway point Wednesday.

Watch live or in English on demand on NJPW World!

8th Match: WTL B Block- Guerrillas of Destiny (El Phantasmo & Hikuleo) (1-1) vs Yota Tsuji & Zandokan Jr.(1-1)

The third straight main event for Hikuelo and El Phantasmo sees the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions looking to bounce back from incurring their first loss Friday in Yamanashi. Opposite them will be the similarly 1-1 Tsuji and Zandokan Jr., but this pair are on the upswing having scored their first win Friday. The G1 saw Hikuleo pinning Tsuji to move himself closer to the quarter finals and pushing Tsuji to the bubble. Might the same happen tonight?

7th Match: WTL B Block- Yuji Nagata & Minoru Suzuki (0-2) vs Just Five Guys (Taichi & Yuya Uemura) (2-0)

Two key points are on the line tonight in Fukushima between these two teams, but there will also be considerable pride on the line in a bout where everything revolves around Minoru Suzuki. Certainly, four decades of hate between the King and Yuji Nagata was never going to be forgotten with one handshake, and Nagata and Suzuki have struggled to trust in and team with one another to date. It won’t be lost on Taichi tonight that one year ago he was competing under the Suzuki-gun banner, and that in Suzuki-Gun derbies, Taichi has always had the upper hand on his one time ‘boss’, including in an emotional singles success during the 2020 G1 Climax. This reunion will also hold significance for Yuya Uemura, who as a Young Lion garnered a reputation for an apparent death wish in his pursual of Suzuki; when Uemura was set for excursion the two would finally go one on one with Uemura unable to get far out of the blocks. Will things go differently for the Heat Storm now?

6th Match: WTL B Block- Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) (0-2) vs BULLET CLUB Rogue Army (Bad Luck Fale & Jack Bonza) (0-2)

Both teams in the sixth match of the night are fighting to get on the board in World Tag League 2023, with the losers moving onto the bubble with the threat of elimination real. What makes that an even more bitter pill to swallow is that one of the two teams on the edge are Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, the IWGP Tag Team Champions. Necessary targets for the BULLET CLUb Rogue Army just so happen to be very attractive ones as well.

5th Match: WTL B Block- Atlantis Jr & Soberano Jr. (2-0) vs Monster Sauce (Alex Zayne & Lance Archer) (2-0)

The first league match of the night will see two undefeated teams doing battle. Someone’s ‘0’ has to go tonight, but will it be the athletic toughness of Team CMLL or the blend of speed and power in Monstersauce that takes the two points?

4th Match: Ren Narita, Shota Umino & Oskar Leube vs Kaito Kiyomiya, Ryohei Oiwa & Boltin Oleg

Kaito Kiyomiya finds himself opposite Shota Umino and Ren narita for the first time since the G1 in this six man preview. During the tournament of tournaments, Umino and Narita were the very embodiment of Kaito’s frustrating summer, neither Kiyomiya nor Umino happy with a time limit draw early in the tournament, and Kaito crashing out of contention thanks to a last block night loss to Ren Narita. Now Kiyomiya hopes he and Oiwa can redeem themselves in tag action, with this trios bout acting as a key preview.

3rd Match: CHAOS (Toru Yano, YOH & Tomohiro Ishii) vs TMDK (Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste & Kosei Fujita)

During the G1 one time allies Shane Haste and Toru Yano were pit against one another, the result being a Haste defeat after having a bucket forced over his head. Mikey Nicholls’ bout with Tomohiro Ishii in the G1 was a good bit more straight forward, but this too ended in defeat for the Aussie side of the ledger. The next night of A Block action will see TMDK looking for tag team revenge, and this preview will be the first step on that road.

1st Match: Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Yuto Nakashima & Tomoaki Honma vs BULLET CLUB (Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, Taiji Ishimori & Gedo)

Action kicks off in Fukushima with an eight man preview of Gates of Agony and BULLET CLUB War Dogs. With the individuals involved, this should be a chaotic affair Sunday night, and this match is likely to set that pace.
