Dueling chants greeted champion and challenger as they fought to an early standoff. BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi would quicken the pace, BUSHI in a position to land a tope suicida, before Naito and Hiromu turned the tables and took advantage in the floor. With BUSHI grounded by Naito, Tsuji drew harsh looks from the champion for breaking up a grounded leg Nelson, but it was a backstabber from BUSHI that finally set up a tag.

Tsuji turned Naito inside out with a big boot and combination, but Naito responded in kind, the corner combination cabron punctuated with a disrespectful spit in the face. After a neckbreaker from the champion, Hiromu would be back inside, and with BUSHI on the other side, ate a tope suicida on the second time of asking. After Naito crunched Tsuji into the guardrails outside, a receipt from the challenger came in ring, leading to a scramble for control that ended with all four men down.

Still legal, BUSHI and Hiromu exchanged strikes until Hiromu got a Dynamite Plunger for two. Tsuji made the save for his partner but ate a tornado DDT from Naito in response; BUSHI suddenly surprised Hiromu though as the BUSHI Roll scored three. In victory, BUSHI reminded Hiromu that Best of the Super Juniors was around the corner and competition had already begun. Tsuji reminded Naito that he was not the Young Lion That faced him almost three years ago and promised victory with the title on the line Saturday.
