TMDK take STRONG tag gold in Chicago

Shane Haste Mikey Nicholls take the titles

In the third match of the night at Windy City Riot, the NJPW Strong Tag Team Championships were on the line in a four-way tag team match in which ELP and Hikuleo defended the titles against Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls of TMDK, Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson of West Coast Wrecking Crew, and the newly formed team of Fred Rosser and Tom Lawlor.

As ELP and Haste started off the match, each pair of competitors were like wild animals, ready to get in the ring. With the teams jockeying for position, West Coast Wrecking Crew and GoD found themselves on top, battling it out in the ring after effectively taking the other teams out. Hikuleo and Jorel found themselves the legal men and as Hikuleo stunned Nelson, he tagged in ELP to finish the job. Isaacs slid in to save his partner and they turned the tables to take out ELP. As both men laid atop the prone ELP, sure to obtain victory, Lawlor slid in to break up the pin and rob WCWC of the championship.

Both members of WCWC stared up at their Team Filthy leader in disbelief as Rosser came to stand next to his partner. Insults flew, followed quickly by heavy blows as Isaacs and Nelson faced off against Rosser and Lawlor. Isaacs and Rosser spilled onto the floor as Nelson threw Lawlor out of the ring. Hikuleo and ELP recognized their chance and took advantage of the distracted Nelson. As ELP climbed onto Hikuleo’s shoulders to finish off Nelson, Haste popped up with the blind tag on ELP’s leg. When ELP tried to cover Nelson, Haste slid in during the ensuing confusion to stack up Nelson and stole the win, securing the NJPW Strong Tag Team Championship titles for TMDK.

After the match, WCWC’s fury at Lawlor for costing them the titles boiled over. They caught their Team Filthy leader before he could exit ringside and were determined to take their anger out on him. Producing a pair of scissors, Nelson cut off a chunk of Lawlor’s hair as Isaacs held their battered Team Filthy teammate, apparently bringing a violent and humiliating full stop to Team Filthy.
