With Wrestle Kingdom 12 fast approaching, the cards for NJPW’s last Korakuen shows of the year have been announced. New Japan rings in the holidays in style every year and 2017 is no different.

In the main event December 17, we’ll see a preview of the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 12. Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito will share a ring as they team with YOSHI-HASHI and Hiromu Takahashi respectively. Tensions between Okada and Naito approached boiling point December 11 in Fukuoka, as they brawled after their semi main event tag match. You won’t want to take your eyes off this confrontation, even after the final bell rings.

Before that, the NEVER 6 Man Tag Championships will be on the line. The Los Ingobernables De Japon trio of BUSHI, EVIL and SANADA will face Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Bad Luck Fale. The LIJ team have proven themselves worthy of being called the most dominant NEVER 6 man champions in history this year. Meanwhile, December 11 saw EVIL and SANADA beat Guerillas of Destiny to win the World Tag League, as BUSHI embarrassed Bad Luck Fale with a mist, low blow and MX. Could LIJ’s momentum see them retain once more, or will Bullet Club enact their revenge in Korakuen?

The seventh match on the show will see the IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions in action as Roppongi 3K team with their coach Rocky Romero to face Satoshi Kojima, KUSHIDA, and the mysterious Masked Horse.

The Road to Tokyo Dome is being brought to you by the Japanese Horse Racing Association, and we are being told to expect a real stallion to appear in Korakuen this weekend. Who is Masked Horse? Will it be a thoroughbred, or thoroughly beaten by RPG 3K? We’ll find out December 17.

In the sixth match of the night, the CHAOS team of Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto and Toru Yano face Suzuki Gun in the form of Minoru Suzuki, Takashi Iizuka and Taichi.

On December 11, Goto repeated his request to challenge for Suzuki’s NEVER Openweight Championship. When Suzuki insisted that Goto had nothing to put on the line in return, the CHAOS member offered to put up his hair; that he would shave his head if he lost.

Yet Suzuki would say backstage that Goto shouldn’t think anything’s decided. It makes for a six man tag on Sunday that Goto can’t afford to lose.

Kota Ibushi will also be looking to make a statement on December 17 as he heads towards an ROH World Championship shot against Cody January 4. Ibushi will team up with Togi Makabe to face the Bullet Club team of Yujiro Takahashi and Leo Tonga.

That’s not all though, as the excitement in Korakuen starts with the opening bell. The Young Lion Cup continues December 17, with three league matches; Hirai Kawato will take on Tomoyuki Oka, Ren Narita faces Katsuya Kitamura, and Shota Umino will be up against Tatsuhiro Yagi.
