Tomoaki Honma cheers on recovering kids National Center for Child Health and Development!

On January 12, Tomoaki Honma paid a visit to Tokyo’s National Center for Child Health and Development. Honma was there on behalf of NJPW to present the facility with a donation for a funding drive staged over the Christmas period. While at the facility, Honma paid a visit to the wards to learn about how the Center operated, and to lend his support to the recovering children.

Honma’s comment:

I came here to the Center today to check out the wards and everything that goes on here, and to see these kids giving all they have to rehab from injury and recover from illness really moved me.

I’ve been rehabbing from my own spinal injury since last March so I can relate a little bit to these little kids just giving all they have. Sometimes with rehab and recovery you just have to do your best with the treatment you’re receiving and take things slowly, step by step. I really want these kids to keep persevering. When I had my injury, I couldn’t move at all, but now I’m able to take on some light exercise. It’s still a long road to recovery if I want to get back in the ring again, but I want to give it my all, just like these kids.

I really hope nobody has to suffer from sickness or injury. From the bottom of my heart, I hope these kids can find their feet and return to a normal way of life as soon as possible.
