After traveling from Osaka to Gifu, and various places in between, “NJPW Presents: CMLL Fantastica Mania” has finally arrived in the Kanto region! The 5th night took place at Makuhari Messe Hall 11.

The double main event of this night was the first round of the “CMLL Family Tag Tournament 2019.” In the first match, the father & son team of Atlantis and Atlantis Jr. faced-off against the brothers team of Sanson and Cuatrero. In this first main event match, Atlantis’s bruising style of attack was complimented by his son, Atlantis Jr., who debuted in Osaka on 11th January. His youthful vigor impressed the crowd. However, Sanson & Cuatrero outperformed their opponents and in the end, Sanson pinned Atlantis Jr. with a Sanson Special. They advance to the tournament final on Friday, January 18 in Korakuen Hall.

In the second main event, the brothers, Místico & Dragon Lee fought against the uncle & nephew team of Volador Jr. & Flyer. The four-man tag captured the hearts of the assembled fans with their high-flying, acrobatic attacks that are hallmark of Lucha Libre style, before Dragon Lee finally pinned Flyer with a Desnucadora.

Based on these results, the tournament final will be held between the two teams of brothers, Místico and Dragon Lee vs. Sanson and Cuatrero in Korakuen Hall on Friday, January 18th. After the match, the Rudos came down the entrance ramp to confront the match winners and intimidate them ahead of their finals match on Friday.

In the 5th match, a dream team consisting of Carístico, Jyushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask took on the Rudo team of Último Guerrero, Grand Guerrero and Templarino, with Carístico pinning Templarino after a La Mistica.

In the 4th match, Kojima and Terrible who have a singles match on Korakuen on January 20th (Sun) clashed in a 4-man tag team match. Terrible ended the match by hitting Toa Henare with a “La Terriblina” after fighting at a frantic pace, faster than at any time yet this tour. Tetsuya Naito and Terrible emerged victorious.

In the 3rd match, Soberano Jr. and Barbaro Cavernario, who will meet in a singles match on Friday, January 18th, tested each other’s strengths and weaknesses in a 6-man tag match. Soberano pinned OKUMURA after a La Bufadora, gaining momentum going into Friday.

In the 2nd match, the mysterious Fujin and Raijin attacked their opponents, BUSHI and Shingo Takagi from the start with a ferocity not seen yet from the masked men. Thanks to their fighting spirit, they ended up defeating the current IWGP Jr. Tag Champions . The battle was hotly contested, but Fujin ended-up pinning BUSHI with a “La Casita.”

In the 1st match, the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Taiji Ishimori and his challenger for the title, Ryusuke Taguchi faced each other in a 6-man tag team match in a battle filled with psychological warfare.
